Why it matters

When someone dies, the people left behind often face weeks of searching through drawers, paperwork and old emails, and phoning organisation after organisation, all while grieving.

In Good Order is about sparing them that. It's a single, organised place that tells the people you trust what you have, where it is, and what you'd want.

In Good Order isn't a legal document and it doesn't replace a will or power of attorney. For those, speak to a solicitor.

How it works

• Type straight into the boxes using a free PDF app such as Adobe Acrobat Reader, or print it and write by hand
• Go at your own pace. You don't need to finish it in one sitting, and every page you complete helps
• Write down where things are, not the secrets. Never record full passwords, PINs or card numbers
• Tell someone it exists, and keep it somewhere safe but findable
• Review it once a year, using the review log at the back

For yourself, or with a parent

Plan for yourself, starting with whichever sections feel easiest. Or work through it with a parent, one section per visit, letting them lead. The Conversations to Have prompts help open things up gently.
